Food, housing requests up sharply in May

Midland County calls for information about help with food and housing rose sharply in May over the previous month.

According to a report to the Continuum of Care, the 211 phone help line for social services received 97 calls for food pantry information, compared to 72 in April. There were 72 calls for information about rent or mortgage assistance, compared to 51 the previous month.
